Many listeners are curious about how The PM Podcast™ is produced. Here's a brief overview for you to get a better idea about how we produce The PM Podcast™.
Overview
Podcast Recording, Editing and Publication
The Project Management Podcast™ is produced at near-professional quality using the following equipment:
- Microphone: AKG 271 and AKG 171 headsets
- Recording device: Zoom H6 Recorder
- Podcast hosting: Libsyn
- We use Joomla to create the RSS feed and pipe them through the Feedburner.
The interviews are usually first recorded using the webinar tool Zoom (It is a pure coincidence that the Zoom recorder we use and the Zoom webinar tool have the same name). We then record the intro and exit remarks by Cornelius on one of the Zoom recorders after the interview. Once all recordings are complete, they are then edited (we remove mistakes, add sound effects, etc.), and then we create the MP3 file, which is uploaded to Libsyn. The RSS feed is generated automatically as soon as the show notes are added to the website.
Note: This article is specific to The PM Podcast™, which is our general project management podcast, hosted by Cornelius Fichtner. This article does not describe how The PM PrepCast™ is made.
